When Did That Happen?

Ok, I'm the first to admit that I lead a somewhat reclusive lifestyle. It isn't that I don't like people, I just don't enjoy crowds, noise, traffic, crowds, long lines and crowds! That's probably why I live on the side of a mountain where even the mail man won't come!

Well, last week made me realize that I really am losing touch with the outside world. I decided to run to Kmart and look for some Prell shampoo. As the 'ole hair seems to be getting thinner and thinner, I remembered how much I loved that shampoo and how it made your hair feel thicker and it smelled wonderful. I searched the shampoo isle from end to end and top to bottom. Finally, a sales clerk walked by and I asked her if they carried Prell shampoo.

"Prell?" she asked.

"Yes," I replied back.

"I've never heard of it," she said with a strange look on her face.

That night I came home and told my husband about this and he almost fell off his chair in laughter. "They haven't made Prell shampoo in years!"

Ok, so my life is a bubble. I can live without Prell shampoo and I'll just quit asking stupid questions when I find myself in public!

How about a little giveaway to get my mind off the shampoo?  On Monday, Oct. 24th, I'll randomly draw one lucky name to win this skein of Schoeller + Stahl's Sockina Cotton yarn.  Just leave a comment on this post and tell everyone what your favorite shampoo is!  (ok, so I didn't get my mind off it!)  Please be sure to leave contact info (like Ravelry, etc) to make it easy for me.
I may be in a bubble, but it's a happy bubble and I've been cranking like crazy for our Etsy shop.  Did any of you ever read the Pipi Longstockings books when you were little?  I'm convinced that's when my love affair with socks and stockings began!

UPDATE:  Amazon.com for Prell shampoo?  I'll check it out.  I also heard that maybe Walgreens carries Prell!  Can it really be true?  Stay tuned and I'll let you know, ok?

I don't really have a favorite shampoo, unless you count the ones I have coupons for. :-) Your socks are beautiful, I love the vibrant colors!

Ooh, I love sock yarn! My favourite shampoo is the Avon Naturals shampoo. A lot of the shampoos on the market irritate my skin, but that one seems to be okay for me. Don't feel bad about the Shampoo. Who has time to keep track of shampoo brands when there are so many more fun and interesting things to do (such as knitting socks :D ). t_grainger17(at)yahoo(dot)ca

I DO remember Prell. Guess that tells how old I am? And I remember using Breck when I was little. But my favorite now is whatever is cheap. Often it is a Suave product. But...on the other hand (or foot), socks are good. :-)

Wait!...you can still buy Prell and I even have a small bottle in my beach bag. I checked to make sure and yes, you can even buy it from Amazon! Of course, I remember all the commercials on tv so I guess I'm getting old!
PS- Love the yarn!

I like cheap usually it seems to be Sauve. Prefer to buy yarn with the extra money.

My Mom loves Prell and was pissed when they stopped making the conditioner years ago. She has baby fine, thin hair that just about everything weighs down. She gets the shampoo at Walmart. I read online a couple of months ago that Prell was going to be coming out with 'reformulated' conditioners but haven't seen them yet. **Fingers crossed** Prell does come out with conditioner again, it will make my Mom a happy camper =)

My favorite shampoo is from the Schwarzkopf brand. I've tried a lot of other brands, and I liked the quality and price of this one, so I now only use Schwarzkopf products.

We love Pippi Longstocking - but of course her socks didn't match. Favorite shampoo/conditioner/deoderant/soap/dogbath would have to be the all purpose peppermint Dr. Bronners - if you can read the small print you can learn all 100 uses for it. It's probably perfect for handwashing wool but I haven't tied it.

My favorite shampoo is probably Sheer Blonde, because it does a grrat job of getting EVERYTHING out of my hair, but ..... It's way too expensive and I hardly every buy it anymore. I have been using Garnier Fructis the biodegradeable one. At least it smells nice.

I am using Herbal Essences shampoo for color treated hair. I wish some company would make an unscented shampoo. I remember using Prell shampoo. It came in a bottle or a tube of concentrated shampoo. I like to use Suave shampoo, too.

Another great-smelling shampoo is VO5 Moisture Milks...I like the scent Strawberry Milk Shake. It seems to make my hair a bit "fluffy" too.

Love your socks....great yarn choices!

My ID on Ravelry is SierraK.

I wash my hair with baking soda, so I guess my favourite brand is... Arm & Hammer?

I know it doesn't sound right, but it works.
