It's definitely going to be a bad fire season in California. This one started about 1:00 o'clock this afternoon near the freeway pass that heads out to Mojave. I'm not sure if it jumped the freeway or not, but it quickly spread up into the hills.
At first we saw just a helicopter, then 2 small water bombers arrived.
The chopper is watering up at the tank that's at the end of our street. From our vantage point, the fire appears to be heading eastward out towards the desert. We're crossing our fingers that it continues that path.
